Product Description

Thoughtfully designed for expansive windows and frequently used doors, SmartDrape combines individually suspended fabric vanes with the adjustable function of vertical shades. The vanes form graceful folds across the opening, bringing texture and movement to your interior.

Pass between the vanes without drawing the shade aside. The fabric parts as you move through it and returns to position, allowing convenient access to your patio or outdoor living space. Draw the shade fully open whenever you want to enjoy the view.

Each SmartDrape® is custom-made for its opening. Fabric, stacking arrangement and manual or motorized controls come together in a tailored design that complements your room and daily routine.

Colours and Fabrics

Express your style with light-filtering and room-darkening fabrics in whites, warm neutrals, greys and deeper shades. Different patterns and textures give the sheer fabric its own character, while your fabric selection determines how much light the vanes block when closed.

Light and Privacy Control

Shape your room’s atmosphere with a simple rotation of the vanes. Open them to reveal the sheer sections, welcoming diffused daylight and a view outside.

Rotate the vanes closed to engage the denser fabric sections for greater privacy. Light-filtering fabrics soften incoming light, while room-darkening fabrics reduce it further.

Manual and Motorized Controls

Choose the control option that suits your space and routine.

Manual control: Twist the wand to rotate the fabric vanes and adjust light and privacy. Turn the vanes to their open position before drawing the shade along the track.

Motorized control: Optional Norman Smart Motorization lets you adjust the vanes at the touch of a button. We will explain the available controls and confirm the operating requirements for your configuration.

SmartDrape uses cordless operation and is Best for Kids certified.

Stacking Options

Tailor the way your shade opens to suit your doorway, furniture placement and movement through the room. Choose from five stacking arrangements:

Stack Right

Side by Side
Traveling Center Stack
Center Opening

We will review where the fabric should gather when open and confirm the configurations available with your selected controls.

Cleaning and Care

For routine cleaning, dust the fabric gently or use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment. Individual fabric vanes can be removed for washing or replacement.

To wash the fabric vanes:

Remove the fabric from its vane clips.
Fold the fabric and place it in a mesh laundry bag.
Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle.
Do not add an extra spin cycle.
Hang the fabric to line dry until slightly damp. Fan drying is also acceptable.
Reattach the vanes to the rail and leave them open until completely dry.

Do not use bleach or bleach-containing cleaning products. Keeping the vanes open while they finish drying also helps reduce wrinkles.

Every SmartDrape is made to fit a specific window or door opening. For an accurate quote, we review your dimensions, fabric selection, stacking arrangement, controls, mounting requirements and installation conditions.

Our team will measure the opening, review track placement and check clearance around handles, trim and nearby furnishings before finalizing your selections and arranging professional installation.

Manufacturer Information and Warranty

Norman’s limited lifetime warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the product, subject to its exclusions. Motorized components carry a five-year warranty; batteries are excluded. Certain fabric conditions have shorter coverage, and shipping, measurement and installation labour, and trip charges are excluded.
