About Us
Trendy Blinds provides custom window coverings, motorized shades, drapery, and related products for homes and businesses across Metro Toronto, York Region, and the GTA. We combine technical product knowledge with experience in fabric, colour, pattern, and interior design.
Our Story
We entered the window-covering industry in 2012 as the Canadian market was gaining greater access to international window-covering products and emerging smart-home technology already developing in other markets, particularly Asia. Trendy Blinds officially launched in 2013.
From the beginning, we brought together experience in building engineering and product management with professional fabric design. This combination continues to shape our approach to custom window coverings, motorization, fabrics, controls, and product selection today.
Paul
Professional Engineer | Engineering & Product Experience
Paul is a Professional Engineer who began his career in Canada’s building engineering industry, working on large institutional, commercial, office, and residential projects. He later worked as a Product Manager, managing a portfolio representing approximately $100 million in annual revenue. Products within that portfolio were supplied to major government and commercial clients, including the Government of Canada, IBM, and Bank of Montreal.
His engineering and product background brings practical experience with motorized window coverings, controls, smart-home compatibility, and other projects where technical requirements must be considered alongside the finished window covering.
Sue Lee
Fabric Designer | Colour, Pattern & Interior Design
Sue Lee is a professional fabric designer who has worked with major Canadian clients like Simons and The Hudson’s Bay Company.
She has experience with fabric colour, pattern, and interior design trends. At Trendy Blinds, Sue uses her background to compare fabrics, colours, patterns, textures, and finishes for custom blinds, shades, and drapery.
Technical Planning Meets Fabric Expertise
Paul and Sue bring two different areas of expertise to Trendy Blinds: Paul provides technical knowledge of the products, and Sue brings professional skills in fabric design. This is especially useful when carrying out projects involving motorized shades, custom drapery, high or difficult-to-reach windows, hardwired systems, and smart-home integration.
